Application Requirements

Please review the requirements below before completing the scholarship application.  Make sure each of the items apply to you and your circumstances.

• You identify as a person of color: African American, or Caribbean or Sub-Saharan African heritage
• You are female.
• You currently live in either Michigan or Massachusetts
• You are over 30 years of age.
• You have a goal of developing a new skill, ability or understanding which could lead to new work or community activities.
• You have identified a specific training or education program you would like to attend.
• You will have difficulty attending the training or education program without some scholarship funding.
• You have already had some experience that supports your interest in pursuing more education or training in a specific area.  
• If requested, you would be willing to provide documentation of your past educational experience, work experience, or financial status. 

Please note: While applications for the scholarship are welcomed at any time, scholarships awards are only made twice each year. We will announce specific application cycle dates on this website.
